| Hi! I've missed you all! Sorry, my last year of school was really difficult and stressful, so I've been staying away from the internet in general. I gave you no warning though, so my bad. My last class (summer session) ends in three weeks though, so I should have more time to chat with you all. Anyway, it's been so long that I thought I'd ask you guys some questions to catch up quicker!
1. What are your summer plans?
2. How is/was school or work?
3. Any big life events I should know about?
4. What is your 3DS code (since I saw some of you talking about it)? What games are you playing (goes for non 3DS people too)?
5. This is where you detail your romantic episodes/love interests that I've missed and/or any juicy juicy gossip you want to tell me.
Please feel free to be detailed and write a wall of text if you so choose! I really am interested in what's been going on.

| 1. Currently in Japan for an 8 week study abroad program. I'm 4 weeks in, and it's been pretty cool so far. I'm learning Business Japanese and Scientific and Technological Japanese, both of which aren't terribly useful for general use, but just being in Japan is pretty helpful.
2. Last semester was alright. I had to drop a class a fourth of the way through because my friend submitted my assignment by accident and we got a zero on it (luckily it wasn't anything more than that). Because of that, the latter half was pretty easy.
3. Nooone.
4. 1693-1836-1079. Played Fire Emblem Awakening somewhat recently and that was really good. Right now, I'm trying to play Osu! since that's somewhat popular here
5. Noneee.
Wooo. Glad to the see the forums are reviving

| HELEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN! D: I WANT TO CHAT WITH YOU SO BADLY. SNIFF SNIFF. TT-TT 1. I'm just gonna enjoy my summer and play some games. School was really tiring this semester and had to code all day long for all kinds of stuff. Who knows, I may code a simple game this summer together with a friend. 2. I'm head of my class and last semester I was chosen to be the class rep by all of my classmates. I've been enjoying my career A LOT. It's really easy for me to grasp all of my assignments. Regardless, it's taking a toll on me and I'm REALLY tired. ^^'' 3. Meh, nothing amusing really. I'm certifying my English this November. 4. 1478-4071-5400. I've been hooked up to the Monster Hunter series ever since I got my hands on MH3U for 50% it's original price. Looking forward to playing the new Smash Brothers. I also have Animal Crossing and Pokémon. 5. Something actually happened. And made me sad... And stuff... I just try not to think much about it, really. ^^'' If you really want to know about it I guess I could tell you. | |

| @Kevin What are the street-passes like in Japan? I heard everywhere you go it's easy to collect 10. Versus here I have to go to Starbucks which is super annoying. I'll put my 3DS code up here when I finally turn it back on. I was playing Animal Crossing but it got to be too much, so now I'm letting it collect dust in the corner of my room.
@Alek I'm waiting for you to elaborate on number 5. Happy school is going so well for you though! When you certify in English you better come to America.

| It is a HELL of a long story for me. When I end up talking about it it seems amazingly shorter. The paaaaaaaaaain. @-@ ANYWAYS. HOPEFULLY A WALL OF TEXT WILL APPEAR. So~... The very first day of university I got to pretty much get to know all of my classmates. Among these classmates there were 3 girls, one of which actually piked my interest but I didn't really pay much attention to what later was going to happen. For the most part, the first semester I managed to ignore the feelings that were later on going to develop. Also, this first semester, one of my classmates also had a crush on her but things pretty much didn't work out. Another one of my classmates also had a crush on her, but it isn't precisely relevant. Nevertheless, the process of the first semester went something like this: What I already explained happened, I saw her, didn't pay any attention, subject A has a crush on her and tries to go out with her and everything goes horrendously, then subject B also gets a crush on her but actually doesn't do anything. Sometimes subject B would give us a lift (a friend of mine, the girl I'm talking about to whom I will reffer as Steph and Me), the route we would take went something like this: Steph's house -> My house -> My friend's house -> Subject B's house. So by the end of the semester I started to pay some attention to what I was feeling and on the way back to my house, My friend and Subject B began to ask me if I liked somebody, to which I replied as vaguely as possible because at the time I didn't know anything about Subject A and B's crush on Steph and all the stuff that happened. They kept insisting and also began to get suspicious, so invited them that night to my house (Living alone is the best, yay!) and talk about all of this with a cup o' Joe and some Oreos (HELL YEAH, CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THEM). So we get to my house, I get everyone his coffee and a roll of Oreos and we boarded the subject again. I didn't really want to talk about the subject, but I pretty much was being forced to, so I bluntly said that I liked Steph and the pushed me enough to give them my reasons. At the time I simply enjoyed finally being able to talk with someone about my interests and this someone actually understanding it having an interest on what I was saying. However, nothing happened that semester. I didn't make any of my moves or anything of the sort. (Unless I actually forgot how the next semester went... which is quite possible but it doesn't really matter. x3). SO I SURVIVED THE FIRST SEMESTER. AWESOME. SECOND SEMESTER. I had enough time through winter's holidays to think about what was going on. So in the end, I finally accepted my feelings for her and started to get to know my group of friends a lot more (because she is in that group of friends). Slowly I began to like her more and more to the point where I could officially call it a crush. We have a lot of things in common which made things easy for me to start conversations with her and whatnot. So one day I had the courage to ask her out to eat with me. I was still pretty new to the city I'm currently living in, so I used that as an excuse. The friend I talked about in the past part (His name is Ed), recommended me to invite her to a restaurant in downtown (which is like a 15min walk from school) that had really good hamburgers, the reason being that one of Steph's favourite foods are hamburgers. I believe it was a Thursday night, just after school and pretty much everybody had left the classroom. Everything was going according to my plan. So I took a deep breath and turned around to ask her. I can't remember her reaction due to the fact that I was pretty much freaking out, but I was really glad She had accepted. We would meet at 1:00 p.m. at the aforementioned restaurant. My heart was pretty much screaming with joy. I actually managed to ask a girl out and everything worked according to what I had planned. Smooth. Friday at 1:00 p.m. comes. I'm really nervous and all of those crazy thoughts like "What if She doesn't come?" and "What if She just said that because She didn't want to be mean?" and a lot of other "What if"s began to run through my mind. Then She arrived. I already had a table for us and whatnot. We ordered and began to talk about stuff like we normally did and got to know her a bit better. The hamburger wasn't bad at all. So I had a hella rad time before getting to school. Subject A didn't know a thing about the crush I had on her at that time, but obviously He wasn't blind and started to notice a few patterns here and there. You know, the usual: going to her seat between assignments to talk with her, hang out with her out of the classroom and whatnot. So He asked my best friend about this (His name's Eric BTW), who pretended to not now anything on the subject. Some days later Subject A actually gave me his "blessing" (so to speak) to keep going out with Steph because He pretty much realised He wasn't going to be able to do a thing. And I was really glad, because I didn't want to make anybody uncomfortable with all the stuff that was happening and I was doing. The days passed and I got her a chocolate (a big Hershey's Kiss) for February 14th. I gave it to her because I was honoring our friendship but with the actual intent of sending an indirect message. That day Ed didn't come to class. Ed's seat was just beside's Steph's so for that whole day I got to sit besides her and lagh at whatever stupid thing appeared in out PC's monitors. I also got to see Her Deviantart page and a few of her drawings (She's good.). More days passed. I began to dream about her daily. Freaking DAILY. Dream streak count = 8 days in a row. Those were some really strong dreams, not just a dream in which Steph just happened to appear in. I actually interacted with her and the dreams were all about her. So yeah... I really liked her by that time... Then I finally decided I had to make Her know my feelings and I can't actually recall the date I decided to do that now that so much has happened. I acompanied Her to take her Bus home (like I had been pretty much doing for quite a while) and when we got to the bus stop I told her something along this lines: Steph, I know that probably you already know this, but... I really like you. A great deal. And I was wondering if you could give me a chance to become something more than your friend.AND I'M GONNA STOP THERE BECAUSE NOW I REALISE THIS IS GOING TO BE A HUGE WALL OF TEXT. ALSO, SUSPENSE. A lot of stuff happened after this, but now you know the base of the story that is about to unfold. STAY TUNED FOR PART TWO. WHICH WILL COME AFTER HELEN REPLIES: :3 | |

| @Alek Shittttt. Looks like things got pretty serious over there. Hope it all worked out someway in the end
@Helen It's not that I didn't like it. I still kinda regret it a little to be honest, but I feel like if I got it I'd also regret getting it. I figured the 3D would be gimmicky and wasn't really worth the extra money. The real problem with the 2DS isn't its lack of 3D but its inability to fold.... At the time I didn't think it would be a problem because I figured I'd just be playing it in my room anyway but the lack of portability is really annoying. I saved a good 40ish dollars so it's not too bad for some minor inconveniences. I still get the games after all, and that's what actually matters to me. So far, I've put it to good use with Pokemon, Dual Destinies, and Fire Emblem Awakening. I might also get Monster Hunter at some point, and if I don't get a Wii U for Smash 4, I'll get it for 3DS.

| PART 2 LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.
THE ANSWER
There I was. Speaking my heart out for real and for the first time. I don't know how I did it, but I managed to keep eye contact on her the whole time. As soon as I spoke the last word I swear I saw her eyes glitter and a discrete smile formed on Steph's face. I was relieved for one part, but I still had to hear Steph's answer. And this is actually when the story gets quite complicated. Nevertheless, her answer:
Yeah, sure. But... Not right now. I mean, we just began the career and I don't want to be distracted or anything.
My systems only caught the part about "Yeah, sure." and screwed everything else.
I understand. I respect your decision, so I'll wait for you as long as that may take.
Then I proceeded to give her a hug and waited for her bus to come.
Why does it get complicated here? Well... That answer there was almost a free pass to the friendzone. We'll talk about that later.
Anyways, She left and I just couldn't stop smiling through all the way back to my house. She had (technically) said "Yes"! Boy did I get a good night's sleep that day. After that instead of accompanying her to the bus stop I started going all the way to her house. Classes end everyday at 9:00 p.m. so it was only natural for me to worry about her getting safely to her house.
BUILDING EVERYTHING UP
After that, I believe I invited her once to have some icecream downtown, again, with the excuse of getting to know the city. She accepted and we just talked like we always did. She's an EXCESSIVELY shy girl, so when I tried to sit in a public bench in one of the little parks she actually told me that she would get embarrassed, so I we just had a walk around downtown.
Every two weeks I return to my parent's place to get some stuff for the following 2 weeks, hang out with the family and update everyone here on how things are going. Each Sunday that I was able to stay home, I'd go visit her to play some random game and do shenanigans. She was the only person to get me out of my house, actually. I could spend the whole weekend locked up in my house wearing underwear.
Continuing, I got to meet her family (Mother, Father, Sister and Brother) and it got to the point where I got along with them too. Steph has never been someone to answer her phone, so since everytime she was out she was with me her family started "using me" (Shall we say) to keep in contact with her. They pretty much could entrust me her life to make things simple.
There was this one time when Steph came to my home town and I pretty much "kidnapped" her and invited her to my house. I went to pick her up to her grandma's place (Yeah, her grandparents live here.) and brought her to my house. We couldn't play League of Legends (Sadly) because my internet was being as unstable as an old suspension bridge, so we played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. She's a huge fan of the series. When the time came, I took her to her grandma's. Her dad opened the door and actually invited me to come inside. I obviously rejected the offer, I had to go back home.
Next up came my return to MapleStory. (Lvl 195 Aran at the moment. Hehe...) This one day Maple came up as the topic of the conversation, and turned out that She also played a few years ago in Broa (The world I'm currently at BTW). Shortly after we began to talk trash about Maple (Like very sane person does to be honest), how the economy and community are just a pile of unpleasant things and whatnot, so we decided to look for a private server with rates close enough to the live ones and also that had an old version of Maple running (We're talking about Pre-Cygnus here). To make things short (Because I could pretty much explain to you every single minute of amazing grinding I spent), I just got closer to her by means of Maple.
COMPLICATIONS
Here comes what you've all been waiting for... Everything seems going okay, right? Well, let me remind you that at this point I'm still waiting for an answer. I forgot to mention that after she gave me her answer on that day, she gave me some sort of "date" for this definite answer, which was at the end of the semester.
Let's jump to 1 month before the semester ends. I can't remember exactly when I did it, but I believe it was before I went back home from Steph's house that I told her:
Alek: Well, a semester just passed...
Steph: Yeah...
Alek: Umm... I was wondering... Do you have an answer for me yet?
Steph: Well... not really. Could yo give me a bit more time?
Alek: Yeah sure! I'll wait...
The date of the final answer gets delayed... And I was okay with it for some reason. Well, I just didn't want to seem pushy or anything. I gave her her space.
THE THIRD SEMESTER
I guess you could say everything kept going as it had been going for some time now. However, from this semester on, it was really hard for anyone to invite her to go out anywhere, the reasons why still beat me to this date.
This semester we were introduced to something new. We got to work on a project the whole semester. It involved participating in a development contest. There were 5 projects in total to choose from and each project could only have 4 members on it. I chose to work on a project involving working with the Kinect API with other 3 classmates (The project that actually interested me.) over working with my friend and Steph in the same project. Said project worked up as a hold up for the next date of "The final answer".
I kept doing all of my stuff as usual and waited until 1 month before the semester ended. By this time I had already talked to Ed about what was going on and whatnot and really encouraged me to push it this time. I was only going to be kept with my hopes up and nothing good would come out of it for either party. So I asked her again. And this is where I learned that She was quite "Lazy" so to speak. Steph's work on her project accumulated because of this, and when I say accumulated I mean that She hadn't done a thing for the project ever since it started. Ed was the leader of her team and let's just say that He was furious about her not working at all, but I've digressed enough. Back on the matter at hand, when I asked her again Steph told me to wait until She was done with the project, which I did.
FINAL ROUND
And then a Sunday came.Everything school related was over. She didn't have any excuses this time to push the date back again, so I went to her house, brought her some white chocolate covered oreos and hung out with her for a while. (Forgot to mention She moved to a new house by this time, so it got kind of hard for me to go to her house after school.) The time I chose to ask Her was just about as I was going to leave. She accompanied me to the door and everything went something like this:
Alek: Hey umm... You still owe me an answer. May I have it now?
Steph: Well... -Steph looked down for a bit- Steph: I know I've made you wait for almost 2 years now. The reason being that I wanted to get to know you better. And after all this time I don't think you are what I'm looking for.
You can imagine how Heartbroken I was. Hell, I don't even know how in the holy heavens I managed to keep my cool and "brush it all off".
Okay, I understand. I respect you decision, I just expect that nothing will change between us. I really appreciate you as a friend and I wouldn't like that to change. See you later!
And I walked off... Immediately phoned all of my friends to update them on the situation. Eric, Ed and Alan (aka Yinkles). Every single one of them expected me to be torn to pieces and I'm still surprised I wasn't at the time. I guess my system just refused to process the whole thing.
Oh but wait! It doesn't even end here! Hell no! But you'll have to wait for part 3. I'm really exhausted and I need a break from typing all this much. HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE WALL OF TEXT.
Also, please tell me how my English is doing. I'd really appreciate it.
Also #2, we should play something together this summer. D:

| Oh so this is where the post was, I set it up so that when anyone posts in the anime club I got an email. ANYWHO: 1. Not a lot going on for me this summer, just trying to relax and binge watch all these tv shows I have missed (I just caught up with Game of Thrones, and I am about to start True Detective). I am taking two online classes (Music Appreciation, which is ironically the most interesting class ive taken in college, and World Geography, one is 8 weeks the other is 4 weeks) 2. I actually was working at this Asian "FAST CASUAL DINING RESTAURANT" called Tin Drum (Kind of like panda express except you order a dish at the counter and sit down and someone brings it out to you) since October and I quit just 2 weeks ago cuz the pay was too low for the type of shit I was doing for them, and even more so because I am pretty sure Georgia has the lowest minimum wage in the country. I recently applied for this data processing job with a substantially higher pay and went to two fucking interviews for it, and then they said they didn't want to hire me because I would be moving in December (transferring to another school) and they didn't want to train me only to have me move like 4 months after the training is done. Aaaand my spring semester was alright, I got good grades but I had to drop my Calculus 2 class because I chose to take a fucking 7:30 AM class because that was the class taught by the best calc teacher (I think thats why he chose to do it so early) and I was having stress dreams the night before exams and would do terribly on them because I had no sleep and its really fucking hard to do calculus with no sleep at 7:30 AM. 3. I killed someone. 4. My friend code is 0189-9681-4449, I haven't been playing the 3DS too much lately, but when I was I was really enjoying it. I was playing Fire Emblem at the same time as Kevin and that was definitely my favorite game on the console, even more than A Link Between Worlds to my surprise. I also got Animal Crossing for the 3DS, as per your recommendation Helen, and I was obsessed with that game for about 3 weeks and then I kinda just phased out. I don't have friends that have a 3DS, let alone AC so there was really no point to keep putting time into it. I like to think that my town is in shambles and one of my citizens has convinced the other townsfolk to overthrow my tyranny, and that the next time I log on the entire city will be in flames and my house will be in pieces, and that all of the shops in the shopping center will become brothels and weapon stores. @Kevin let me know when you finish pokemon, I want to get back into that game and get a good team as well 5. I have no romantic episodes I actually haven't met too many people in college unfortunately, which probably has a lot to do with the fact that I am going to a commuter school, and I have the intent to transfer soon. I have made friends in my classes, but the extent of our relationship would never go past the classrooms, and I don't really feel the need to force friendships with anyone cuz that would just be weird. But don't worry, you will be the first to know of any romantic entanglements. Also shouldn't you answer these questions as well? | |

| @Alek, I was going to tell you your English is impeccable before you even asked us how it was. YOU USED THE WORD "DIGRESSED", I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO USE THAT WORD.
It seems like this girl did you kinda dirty. I mean, you seem like you were really close to her and she really seemed to be leading you on. The I've found with girls that lead you on like this is that they will keep leading you on until you are absolutely direct and basically force to give an answer or until such a great amount of time has passed that they feel guilty for leading you on for this long (she had to have known what she was doing this whole time, maybe Helen would have a better perspective on this), which is probably at the point at which she answered. It really sucks, I have been there before with a girl that lead me on for ~2 years to the point that I was absolutely direct with her and got a similar answer to yours. Be happy you had the balls to say something to her in the first place, cuz now you have no regrets. You just have to always keep in mind that there really are so many girls out there, and probability wise, there are a lot of them just like you. Everyone goes through heartbreak, its just that nobody likes to believe it will happen to them, and the first time is always the hardest. I guess I should wait til PART 3 now.

| @Kevin yeah, the unfoldability of the 2DS is the reason I convinced a lot of my friends not to get it. But yeah, I mean, if you're not into street passes or anything it's a fine option.
@Alek Awww, I'm really sorry. You should totally never wait on girls. Like if it's bad timing, it's bad timing, you should move on and hope maybe there will be better timing later on.
@Omar WHY DIDN'T YOU TEXT ME WHEN YOU GOT ANIMAL CROSSING. Actually, I quit it too, it got to be real stressful checking up on my hyrbid flowers and the stalk market everyday, I just gave up.
@Lars You didn't answer the questionaire, and AGAIN, as I've TOLD YOU, it makes more sense for you to stop in DC.
I'll answer the questions as per request in another post, I have to go turn on my 3DS and find my code first.

| 1. What are your summer plans?
Mostly just look for a job. In September I'm hiking Half Dome in Yosemite with my sister. It's this 10-12 hour hike. I'm really excited about it actually.
2. How is/was school or work?
So I'm finishing up my last class of my undergrad career right now. I'm working at a tutoring center, but because high schools just finished up I don't have many hours so I'm about to quit. Hopefully I find a new adult job quickly. School was good otherwise. I mean, I hate being in school, but it wasn't any more unbearable than it usually is.
3. Any big life events I should know about?
As you've likely discerned from the last two answers, I've graduated.
4. What is your 3DS code (since I saw some of you talking about it)? What games are you playing (goes for non 3DS people too)?
3781-0307-1653. I'm in the process of adding you all. I was playing AC. I'm not playing anything really right now. I like to download the indie games from the eshop and play them in my downtime since they're really light in the level of commitment you need to put into them. So I sometimes play Fractured Soul and NightSky. They're pretty cool.
5. This is where you detail your romantic episodes/love interests that I've missed and/or any juicy juicy gossip you want to tell me.
I'm still with Bryan, who you all remember. We're not getting married until we're both independent, so it'll be at least another year or so. I mean, a lot can happen in that amount of time, but the plan is to seal the deal eventually.
Your English is great Alek. =]

Just chiming in with the others. English is absolutely great.
It really does suck what happened with her. Hopefully you'll have another chance in the future.
@Omar
I am at Victory Road but haven't touched in the last day. I have a team idea for competitive use but it'll be a pretty long time before I get it, considering five of its members require the hidden ability to be useful. I also feel like it's pretty gimmicky but whatever
@Helen Congrats on your graduation! Sounds like you'll have a busy year coming up. Good luck
Yeah, the 2DS a lot of people thought of as a joke, and I honestly did too. I think most of it comes from the naming but I'm not going to complain if Nintendo is offering a cheaper version of the console that gets the same library.

Well, I kind of suck, I feel like im going to be the most boring one on here. Literally nothing much has changed probably since I last gave an update. Still working at Petco, still cant drive, therefore still not in college, FUN STUFF.
1. What are your summer plans? Pretty much to do what I've been doing. I can't really make plans for anything yet until I can get this dang car working, so that I can actually go places other than work. What happened with my car was, to be direct, it was gotten from a shady dealership. When we got the car they swore up and down that it was great, ran perfectly, and never been in a wreck. We later find out that the thing is a lemon, was definitely in a wreck, and now the place is out of business probably because of similar situations with other customers, so we cant even really take anyone to court about it now.
2. How is/was school or work? Work is going pretty great actually. They were going to promote me to customer adviser, then changed their mind and now im going to be a dog trainer, which is even better. Not only do I get a decent pay raise, but I get to learn an awesome skill that will come in handy for the rest of my life. I also even got Rayce a job here too.
3. Any big life events I should know about? Hmmmm well me and Rayce pretty much moved in together in a way. Were at my parents house, part of it is because he works at Petco with me too now and its a lot closer than his house, and another part of it is because he hates his own parents house. I dont know if I've ever ranted about this to you guys or not, but to make a very long story short, about a year ago my dad moved these crazy house guest people into our home. They are obnoxious, allergic to everything thats important to me (my pets, my paints), and they've nit-picked about getting rid of the microwave and various household cleaners because they're complete health nutjobs. So yeah, I've had to get rid of a lot of my animals as of late, im down to just my two chameleons, my sparrow, and my (now) outside cat. One other cat I had even died because it had to be put outside. Since then, these crazy people are still here, my mom stayed in Seattle when we went on our trip because shes pretty much had enough of it, and this house sucks. Theres a bright side though, now that Rayce has started working too, we just might be able to save up enough to move out into some cheap place at least. Hopefully. We just wanna get out of this place.
4. What is your 3DS code (since I saw some of you talking about it)? What games are you playing (goes for non 3DS people too)? My 3DS FC is Azeill 0877-0473-7261 and my Wii U name is Azeill. Add meeeeee. I dont know how many of you have a Wii U but we can play Mario Kart 8 together and it would be extremely awesome if we could all eventually have an online smash bros tourney for when that comes out. Currently im playing MK8, Zelda Windwaker, Pikmin 3, Pokemon Rumble Blast, and occasional shiny hunting on Pokemon X. Pikmin 3 is my first pikmin game and Ive always wanted to try the series, and im glad I did, its really fun. Im also highly anticipating Smash Bros U, Pokemon Art Academy, Alpha/Omega, Splatoon, and the new main Zelda game for future releases. Im a nintentard.
5. This is where you detail your romantic episodes/love interests that I've missed and/or any juicy juicy gossip you want to tell me. Well, shit, that was pretty much all the junk I put in the above questions. But knowing the outcome I'm sure you'll want me to elaborate even more. Love interests: There isnt really much else I can think of besides hes staying at my place and working at Petco with me now. Things are going great, especially a lot better now that hes graduated and starting to get out there and do life things. Crazy houseguests: There is a lot to elaborate on this. I've had to get rid of my sugar gliders, my bearded dragon, my pancake tortoises, my turtle, my amazon parrot, and my cat because of these people. I also cant use my kitchen or my living room because they've pretty much taken it over. Me and Rayce have pretty much been using my moms room to play the Wii since shes gone and we keep as much stuff as we can in my room so we dont have to go out and conflict with them as much. Theyve broken a lot of things too or thrown a lot of stuff away that "we dont need or is harmful to us." God forbit I light a candle or some incense, they'll probably keel over and die. I tried washing some paint brushes in the sink one day and she completely flipped out on me. They put our microwave outside, and when my mom finally put her foot down and brought it back in, half the buttons dont work probably due to water damage. Bleach is strictly forbidden in the house as well as most house cleaners besides vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. My dad sees it as a "beneficial relationship" because he really thinks these people are helping us out by making our lives better and healthier. Oh, and I forgot to mention that these are also the people that got me the connections to the shady car deal. I cant even drive yet because of that. And even longer story short, weeee neeeeed toooooo mooooooveeee.

| @Kevin: When I first saw the 2DS, I questioned its existence, then came to the realization that it was just a low-budget 3DS for the people that don't care about the 3D feature, or for small supervised children. Understandable, great if you're on a college budget but still want to play all the new games. But the first thing I noticed about it in the pictures was the inability to fold, I knew instantly that was a horrible curse for it. I cant even begin to imagine where I would be if my DS couldnt fold. The screens would be broken in a week and it would never fit in a pocket and I could never play it while im at the register at work. All in all, decent idea with a curse. @Alek: Good lord, I feel so bad for you. What a little !#$%^$% to be leading you one for TWO YEARS. Im sorry, I know shes still your friend and all, (I think?) but come on, she could have at the very least let you know exactly how she felt early on instead of giving you these wishy washy excuses to get your hopes up and lead you on for so long. It doesnt take two years to get to know a person well enough to know if you want to date them. Sorry I know this is all pretty blunt and im sure she didnt mean any harm by it, but urrrgh, its just frustrating knowing what could have been done differently. I dont even think you were pushy about anything. Two years is just too long for an answer. Im thinking that she was either just way too shy and didnt know how to handle the situation at hand, or there was another guy. Also, your English is great as always, if we just met I would never know it wasnt your first language. - Alek wrote:
- Next up came my return to MapleStory.
See, this is why I've brought/tried to bring my boyfriends to Maplestory. Its a great way to spend some time together without things getting too awkward. Its a bit sad that you guys have met nearly all of my past boyfriends. WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT THOUGH, I havent really had that many for my age if you consider most of the worlds teenage female population. All the ones you guys met is literally it. Ive always felt insecure about that because I was well aware that I was probably introducing a new boy to you guys every year. @Omar: - Omar wrote:
- 1. Not a lot going on for me this summer, just trying to relax and binge watch all these tv shows I have missed (I just caught up with Game of Thrones, and I am about to start True Detective). I am taking two online classes (Music Appreciation, which is ironically the most interesting class ive taken in college, and World Geography, one is 8 weeks the other is 4 weeks)
Let me know how that goes for you. Im always hearing everyone talk about everything Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, The Walking Dead, Doctor Who, etc etc and you guys will probably think im crazy because I've never seen any of these. Im just not a TV watcher. I did try Doctor Who once, but I just dont have the attention for 40 minute long episodes all the time. Im used to binge watching 20 minute long anime. - Omar wrote:
- I also got Animal Crossing for the 3DS, as per your recommendation Helen, and I was obsessed with that game for about 3 weeks and then I kinda just phased out.
I have AC, but I quit it too for the same reasons as yours. But damn when I went on my Seattle trip, I would streetpass 10 people daily just from walking around town. Tons of people have 3DSes in bigger cities. You could also try going on BellTreeForums to better communicate with other ACers. Animal Crossing has by far the absolute best gaming community Ive ever seen, everyone is so nice and willing to help. Also if you decide to play again, time travel backwards to a time where you know it was before you quit playing, it will count it only as going forward one day and you shouldnt lose anything, not even villagers. Also guys if you want good pokemon competitive team advice, talk to my boyfriend, hes really into it and does gen 6 competitive and has pretty good strategies and such. I go to him for advice on that, im not much of a battler myself, im in it for collecting everything. I already have the national dex completed and collected in my Bank in order, now im going for collecting every national dex shiny excluding the events. So far Ive gotten in the 40s, most of them being self-caught. Yay for friend safaris, chain fishing, and the shiny/egg charm.

That really sucks... It pisses me off that there are shady people content with making a living off of selling people broken things. I understand why my parents paid for us to take any car we were thinking about purchasing to the mechanic first. I know I never would have thought to do that but I guess you really just have to learn that the hard way. But having a car isn't all that great when you think about the future costs you have down the line, like gas and maintenance. It is just a pit of money that is only really worth it if you are using it to get to a job that provides a lot more than those costs. - Angie wrote:

That is awesome that you got a job at Petco, that seems like the perfect place for you to work. If you just follow your passion for animals I am sure you can get pretty far, even without veterinary/vet-tech school. I wouldn't be discouraged about not being able to go to college. With the economy the way it is and the great difficulty it is to find a job these days, you could honestly have a greater opportunity just following your passion. You could do freelance work as an artist as well, and that type of work is all about networking and once you have enough connections you can be very successful doing something you love. Angie you should add us all on Skype, I think that would be the best way for all of us to coordinate doing things like anime club type events. If there were a private server that let us GPQ that would be amazing too because that was by far my favorite thing to do in Maple. I don't know if one exists now but I remember a while ago I was looking for that and I couldn't find anything. Edit: KORRA FANS WATCH THIS

| I'll get to write part 3 eventually. I'm too lazy, annoyed and kind of mad after writing and remembering all of that again. ^^'' @Ange: AWESOME. Getting a job is someting that worries me at a high degree. I got a job offer the other day though... Since me and Ed (My friend) are at the top of the class, we are the first to get noticed if an interesting project or something interesting in general happens. This time we got a job offer from the government for a database programmer. They pay was around the $650 - $700 USD (just trying to give an aproximate, it's actually $7500 MXN) free of taxes. Sadly we had to decline de offer. The schedule was awful. From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. That pretty much takes like half of our classes in our schedule, and besides, it's not our area of expertise, we would've had to learn some more programming languages before anything. I'm leaving tomorrow to an event called "Campus Party". It's this awesome event sponsored by a company named "Movistar" and you pretty much get to use an insanely good internet services, attend to really interesting conferences and participate in really cool and awesome courses. Pretty much all of my classmates are attending. Oh, also, there are some tournaments too. Hopefully I can participate in some of them and try to win something. Last year I participated in a Mario Kart 7 tournament and got to the finals and also ended up with an admirer. x3 If you guys want to play something I'm up for suggestions. I really don't have much planned other than begin to program a game with Ed. UNBORE ALEK, PLEASE. | |

Sounds rough with the housing situation. I can't imagine having to deal with that. Home is one of the few places where I feel like I should be able to completely relax and wind down, so that sounds really stressful. Hopefully, it'll get better.
Congrats on the job too! It's great that you're getting jobs that are fun for you and pay decently.
@Alek
Seems pretty interesting the government offered the job, but with those hours it definitely seems like a full-time thing. One thing I've learned about programming jobs over here though is that you will always feel under-qualified when you shouldn't, so don't let that stop you from getting the job you really want.
Also totally up for some game too (though I probably won't be able to really participate for another three weeks). Recently I've been killing boredom with Osu! but that isn't really a get-together kind of game.
On a side note of how things are going here in Japan, I had a homestay with a Japanese family this past weekend. It was pretty cool. I got to do a lot of the random cultural things you see in anime a lot ("Itadakimasu" and all that). My family with apparently very global though, since the others in this program had a lot more... unique... experiences. We also went to this mountain that I am quite sure has at least one monkey every meter. Shit was fucking insane.
Come next semester, I'll also be working as a TA for a math course at GT. To be honest, I got accepted a while back but haven't gotten any correspondence since so I don't even know exactly what I will be doing. I just really really hope I don't get an early morning class. I learned last semester that I absolutely can't do mornings

Thats why I've practically decided to just not even deal with getting a car. Im in this sort of limbo state where I really, really dont want a car but at the same time I know I really, really need one to survive in the state I live in. Im perfectly happy with my bike as of now. Maintenance on it costs me less than $70, gas is nonexistent, if it breaks down on me then its either cheap to fix or I can sometimes fix it myself, and it doubles as great exercise. The cons of a bike though are obviously that Im extremely limited to where I can go, and weather. Im just lucky that Petco is literally 5 minutes away from my house. I cant go to school yet or even attempt moving out though because school is too far away for me to bike on, and if I moved close to the school, I would be jobless, which is where the car necessity comes in. If I lived in a big city like Seattle, I would never need a car because their transportation system is so advanced and much better than ours. The buses there run like every 10 minutes, go city-to-city, run Sundays and with a wide range of hours, has terminals and stops at every corner, and its just so pedestrian-friendly everywhere you go. Lafayette has none of that. After actually noticing what makes a big city a "big city", I feel like this state is so ridiculously underdeveloped as with most southern states. I think I need to move at some point. - Shen wrote:

I feel like it would be kind of a huge gamble though. There are always the "what ifs", and I would have nothing to fall back on if something were to happen. I always hear about these people that regret not going to college, and then I hear about the ones that say "college isnt for everyone." I guess its just something I'd have to experience myself at some point. - Kevintasta wrote:

(...probably hit up all of the pokemon centers) From someone whos actually taken Japanese class a couple of times, I really, really want to go at least once. The culture is just so beautiful, they focus a lot on respect and everyone seems so polite, they have unique wildlife and traditions, and its another huge city where transportation isnt an issue. I BEG YOU PLEASE GO TO A POKEMON CENTER, BUY EITHER THE COOLEST OR CUTEST BUT NOT EXTREMELY MOST EXPENSIVE THING YOU SEE, MAIL IT TO ME WHEN YOU RETURN, AND I WILL REIMBURSE YOU COMPLETELY. If I did, my bad, whoops. I've been working there for 9 months now. Oh crap I didnt even notice the Korra trailer until you said something, now im excited. I also cant believe that they didnt have a release date until a week before it airs, part of me is kinda glad though, I remember last time I believe we had to wait months for book two and it felt like forever because we had a date to go by, im glad we dont have to experience that trauma again. It did take a little while for book 2 to kick off, but I think it was well worth it in the end. Book three already has a very interesting setup so far what with the setting change with the spirit portals being left open. Were gonna have to make a new thread just for Korra stuff. Im pretty sure I already have you guys on skype but maybe not, so Ill check and add. Im MantisFTW. Im hardly on skype though, usually its because Rayce always has his logged in and we kinda just share it because we have all the same friends for the most part. The best way to get in touch with me is through facebook, so if you guys ever want to chat or do a group chat, let me know on there asap and ill try to jump on skype. Also I have an accomplishment I want to brag about. When I was in Seattle I got to visit TPCI (The Pokemon Company International) in Bellevue, the one and only building for the Pokemon company in North America/a lot of other countries. It unfortunately was not a whole lot to look at, it was just an office building on one of the top floors in an Expedia building and I wasnt allowed to access most of it. They did have an awesome lobby though with statues and murals of pokemon, and one of the workers even came out to take my picture and he gave me a Snivy plush keychain from his desk, so that made an awesome souvenir. I also got to visit a pokemon center kiosk and get a couple of legit pokedolls. I would have visited Nintendo in Redmond too, but I didnt know about it until it was too late.

I tried adding that, it said you were located in Melbourne, Florida, and your name was actually "Mantis" so idk if that is you. But yeah next time we are all online on Skype we shall scout you out on facebook. I think where we left off with the anime club last was that watching an episode a week was too big of a commitment, which I understand. We were saying it would be easier to just watch an entire series and then talk about it after, which I don't mind doing, but again there is the question of what show to watch. Another idea is the have a "movie night" type thing we were doing before and just watch like 5 episode chunks of a show together. So if you have any suggestions for shows or movies to watch let me know, and also the days and times you would be the most available.

Turns out MantisFTW was for some other thing. Whoops. My problem with the anime club wasnt necessarily that watching an episode a week was too big of a commitment, I just found it hard to really get into the anime if it was only once a week. Like I have to binge watch to get the full enjoyment, otherwise I will end up forgetting what even happened in the last episode and I'd have to remember names and characters and plots all over again. I try to refrain from watching unfinished anime for that reason. I couldnt really enjoy Log Horizon because of that, I ended up losing interest because I was forgetting stuff. It might be different though if I could binge watch it. Im cool with movie nights, im available most of the time during late afternoon, around after 7pm my time. I typically have work in the mornings or mid-day but I do sometimes work the occasional 5pm-11pm. As far as what we could watch, as extremely unhelpful as it is, im poke up mon for anything. origins
