RIDDLE ME THIS

Remember all those old riddle threads we used to have? LETS DO ANOTHER. Whoever gets the riddle right starts the next one and so on.
I'll start the first one.



A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."


The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.


In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?

He mugged him ofc.

He wrote "your exact weight"

Smart. Tricky carnival people.

You whiz around the corner in your rented moped when suddenly you're forced to come to a sudden stop.

It seems a funeral procession has stopped for a quick breather. Empathy overwhelms you and you offer your condolences to the whimpering man nearby. "Were you close?" you ask, wishing you hadn't.

After a moment, the man replies, "Brothers and sisters I have none, that man's father is my father's son."

That sounds sarcastic, you think to yourself. Maybe the guy doesn't want to tell you, which is fine, but there's no reason to be a smartass about it.

Or, perhaps the clever among can see this is the real answer.

What is the meaning of the man's answer?

The dead man is his nephew.

His brother is dead.

Its his son

I'm confused. None of those methods are sure ways to kill someone. Like you can survive getting hung if their neck doesn't break, you can survive if you get stabbed as long as it doesn't hit your heart or any other major organs, and you can live if you get electrocuted as long as the voltage isn't too high and doesn't go on for too long. And since you're asking what you can say to survive, couldn't you technically say anything and in theory, survive? Or did you mean to ask, what could you say to avoid a negative consequence?
