No drugs Angie. yerrrr A cat is the only animal i would ever want as a pet. Everything else is too much responsibility.

| Pot here is $10 an ounce or so, anything else can be 20-30$ or more. how do i know this? I LIVE IN LOUISIANA
and I would think a cat would require more responsibility than a dog, because you have to worry about litter training it, change the litter every day or two, make sure it doesnt run off or get in the neighbors yards, and worry about claws and males spraying everything. dogs are a little more low maintenance because you can (although definitely dont recommend) just leave it out in the yard most of the time and they would be fine. and its easier to potty train a dog than it is a cat, in my opinion. i guess it really depends on the personality of the pet. some dogs are escape artists and can get out of any yard, or they can be pretty stupid and obnoxious and jump on people and whatnot. i dont know why i felt like making a paragraph on cats and dogs. i am bored.

| Psh no way. Litter training? It learns that naturally. Change the litter everyday? ... I don't remember the last time i changed the litter -cough- And my cats are indoor cats, so they never get sick or get fleas. The only thing that is true is the claw thing, that is probably true with dogs too. And males don't spray if they are neutered. | |

| Some cats are hard to litter train though, or at least mine were. that was probably due to the fact that they were outside and inside (mostly outside), and that can sometimes make it confused. and pshh, thats the thing, if you ever live on your own and get a cat SOMEONESSS going to have to change that litter. dogs dont have as much of a claw problem as cats because their not as sharp and they dont use claws as a main defense. you also dont have to necessary worry about neutering a male dog, most people dont unless they intended on having a female as well and dont want puppies. just saying, i think cats require more maintenance. doesent mean i dont still loves them though :3 | |

| Im not saying that someone else changes it, im saying.... i havent changed it in a while -cough cough- They are going to get some kind of fecal disease or something.
And this debate could go on for a while so i will end it here

| Nowadays they litter train the cats before you take them home, at least that's what they told us when we brought our spawn of satan devil cat home. And I think dogs are more maintenance, which is why Cesar Romero exists. | |

| O.O Cats > Dogs in responsibilty?
Dogs require walks everyday, cats don't Dogs require a large outdoor space, cats don't Dogs require more food (due to body mass), cats don't Dogs require more money for maintenance such as dog schools, cats don't Dogs require the owner to have more energy, cats don't since they are lazy animals.
Cats are meant for those of a lazy type and those who live in a apartments/units who don't have access to a backyard or don't have a big backyard and also don't have the time walk a dog daily.
Also Angie, can you put a spoiler over your main post, those pictures and there massive-ness is really irritating when clicking on this thread.

| bah we got way off-topic anyway, im just going to split it
Dogs require walks everyday, cats don't dogs dont require a walk at all really. i walk my dog a couple times a month, and walks arnt necessary depending on if you have an outside or inside dog
Dogs require a large outdoor space, cats don't heavily depends on dog. if you have something small, it doesent need much space. large dogs like weimeraners would definitely need a big space
Dogs require more food (due to body mass), cats don't cats eat JUST as much as dogs, but again, mainly depends on type of dog.
Dogs require more money for maintenance such as dog schools, cats don't ..who honestly brings their dog to obeisance school? its not required at alllll. dog money requirement NEEDS: dog food, leash, possible teather for outside, shots, possible extra treats, squeaky and chew toys cat money requirement NEEDS: cat food (which is normally a little more expensive than dog food, depending on brand), necessary to neuter male, shots, possible treats, cat toys, possible declaw, bag of litter every month or so, litter pan. mainly the two things that you have to keep getting are food and litter. with dogs its just food.
Dogs require the owner to have more energy, cats don't since they are lazy animals. againnnn, really depends on dog and type of person. someone like an athlete wouldnt want to have a cat for example. you also have to change the litter ever one or two days, where as a dog you could just throw food and water out in the yard
as far as i know, neither you or omar have dogs, so you wouldnt know =o now, FERRETS on the other hand, beat cats and dogs when it comes to responsibility >:3

| Most dogs do require walking, its only really little ones that just need a backyard. I had to walk my friends dog while they were out of town, and I'm telling you that dog NEEDED to be walked, because he'd get really restless and the backyard wasn't enough. He'd go crazy, needed the exercise, and I remember it was the same with my dad's dogs, and time isn't convenient either. Like my dad's dogs woke up early and if you didn't walk them right away they'd cause problems.
Anyway, it depends on the animal. There are some cats that are heavy maintenance too, like you have to brush them 3 times a day, but I know all the cats I've ever had have been less maintenance then any dog we've ever had. Bryan's cats don't even use a litterbox, they go outside.

| Do you mean when they have to use the bathroom.. they walk outside and do it? Or do you mean they are outdoor cats and they poop outside because they are outside and they have to? If its the first thing, those are some pimp ass cats. | |

| The first one. The only maintenance those two require is just to change their food and water bowls once a week. | |

| Yeah, it really does depend on the animal. A chihuahua wouldn't need as much maintenance as a persian cat, unless your one of those rich bastards who plan to follow the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua. And an everyday orange tabby wouldn't need as much maintenance as a collie. it really depends on the owner too- how they are financially, how fit they are, responsible, etc. a lazy person would probably tend to get a cat or small dog and an athletic person would tend to get a large and energetic dog.
i just personally think their higher maintenance because of my situation where my parents wouldn't even let my cats be indoor, so they would cause problems like going in the neighbors garden, running away, getting into fights, getting sick, all that. and they couldn't stand to have a litter box in the house. im sure if i was actually allowed to have an indoor cat it would be much easier.
