Its rare, but I'm reading about people finding it at sharks in like 6-7 hours even on 1x drop. Granted they were lucky but... depending on how many people we have, everyone could be on a different channel looking, and the liklihood of it dropping for one of us would be a lot higher. Obviously though, Pianus would be more fun. And yeah, he outdoes your hp, but what if we had hb? Even if we didn't though, I'm pretty sure Angie and I wouldn't mind going alone.

Zerk 30 costs 300m and ONLY DROPS FROM HT, most people sell it for 350m+ cause its so rare.

It is the main reason why I think about quiting my dk and starting something new.

I'd be a cry baby about it too. 150 m is a lot. I mean, 300 m is certainly more but I'm just saying.. I'd be upset either way. I was upset, I failed blizzard 30 four times before it worked on the fifth. I still owe Eros 180 m. Mastery books are stressful for all classes, lets just leave it at that.

Anyway, to answer Angie and Omar:

"The exact rates for SE 20 from cold sharks (they don't drop from normal sharks) and left pianus are 0.001% and 7% respectively. If you want a point of comparison, the ancient book has a 0.005% droprate and drops from both types of sharks, so you're likely to find ten times as many ancient books as sharp eyes books at sharks. Droprate of SE 30 from right pianus is 2% if you're curious."

So obviously, we have a better chance with pianus. If Angie trains at cold sharks though, its even better. I'm gonna be pretty useless at cold sharks though =/. So I think Pianus is definitely our best bet, and it would be fun anyway.

this is probly going to be a very noob question.. but
why are skill books so necessary? i mean, i know it adds more max points you can have in one skill, but cant you survive several more levels and wait? i doubt anyones gonna call you a noob just for not having a skill book. (or maybe they will, i dont know. never got one so no experiance)
but yeah just saying, skill books should be more of an option than something you have to do

It depends on the skill.
With Omar and SE 20, since he trains in parties, getting into the best parties a lot of the time depends on what buffs you can offer. Having a high level of SE will sometimes be THE REASON Omar gets into a good party.
And with Blizzard, having it maxed is the difference between 1 hit and 2 hit, which is important for me when Im leeching, and also just training.

However! You're right, you don't have to have it right away. I know a 15x Bishop that never maxed genesis and he gets on just fine. And Omar will still probably be able to get into parties even without maxed SE. But still, its a lot of stress.

jando..... you didnt even buy it and fail it yet, so are you really one to talk? im not crying about it, i just wanted to make a video out of it, even if it was a success, i would have still made a video, hence the point of me recording it.

and i cant really ask you guys to help me get it, its worth too much for you to just give it to me even if you did find it. and if you did, we would split the profit, i would feel bad using it.

Drk's can survive with zerk 20 but that means you will be hitting 30% less then a Drk who has zerk 30 and have 10% less hp to work with.
- 40% hp limit for Zerk 20, x170% damage increase (x1.7 damage)
- 50% hp limit for Zerk 30, x200% damage increase (x2.0 damage)

This is my main skill as a drk and it being rare as it is (for every 10 se 20's there would be 1 Zerk 30 on estimate). This is because only HT drops Zerk 30 and HT has around 2b hp. People who get will sell it between 300 - 400m or 40k nx.

This makes me very unmotivated in gaining levels.

Oh and to those think that 30% damage increase ain't worth the chance of losing 300m.

I've gotten to the stage when upgrading things cost way more then 500m+ for a significant damage boost.

Look at this calculation.

Say at lvl 131, I have Zerk 20 and 10 saved points for Zerk 30.

I do 10k/10k/10k per crusher on average.
With Zerk 20 I will be doing 17/17/17 per crusher on average.
So i do around 51k crushers.
If I buy Zerk 30 for 300m and pass it. My damage will increase by 9k and give me 10% hp to work with. Now I know that no equip upgrade could give me a 9k damage boost.

Oh and I forgot. SE 20 has a 70% chance to work. Zerk 30 has a 50% chance. If I'm like Helen and it works on my 5th try thats (5x300) 1.5b gone. If it doesn't work for you till the 5th try aswell then you've only wasted (5x150) 750m and your able to find on average 10 more SE 20 books to 1 Zerk 30 book.

Sorry if I sound harsh or like prick but Drk's have it hard in 4th job.

But Jando, don't you think that you could get into a HT run group because you have HB? And if you consistently ran with them eventually it would drop. Just continue leveling, and make a lot of friends that will help you get into a run group later, and there you go. Its definitely unfortunate that you have to suffer through crap damage but what else can you do right? =/

And if that didn't work, you could also get into zak runs. Have you ever though of hosting a zak group? If you know enough attackers and went routinely, as a host you always get first loot order, you could be making up to 1 b weekly. I'm just saying its not impossible, disheartening as it may be. Maple is a social game, you gotta get contacts and shimmy you're way up in order to make sufficient funds for yourself to pay for your gear and skills. And with our guild, if we continue recruiting upper levels, it would be easier to organize it.

I mean, I'm not saying your situation doesn't suck, I'm just trying to show you some options. I realize that your situation, trying to get into run groups is particularly difficult since your time zone is COMPLETELY different, but yeah, you can do it! =] Don't quit that char, there's too much work in it!
