| I'd remind you on facebook but that doesn't work either..
Edit: Friendly reminder, if you haven't been on MS in awhile and your computer takes a long time to patch, you might want to think about patching either tonight or early tomorrow!

| I'm going to have to redownload it... so I hope that that doesn't take forever. If my internet doesn't go out like 5 times during the download, I should be fine | |

| Lol Alek. I've never really been that used to having a phone, so its not a pain for me. Its not nearly as bad as someone whose had a phone for so long and then having it suddenly get taken away.
Try Facebook anyway Helen if its alright. I should be on at that time, but I don't think I'll forget. I'm about to leave and will be gone all day and back at 7, so I'll start the patch now and just hope it doesn't mess up while I'm gone.

| I had one at one point, but I do not have the $25 a month to pay for that thing just for unlimited texting. Besides that, I need a new sim card too, so its that plus the texting and thats $50 for the first time. They're just too expensive.
Oh another note, the guild meet up was fun even though I died within the first 3 seconds of pap the first time (blame lag) and didn't make it to the second because I was slow. The time worked great for me and Helen but Kev left because it got too late and Kevrec (maybe we should just start calling him that now) wanted to leave because it midnight. Although.. it did take us a while to start because I took long to get there. I don't know if we should reconsider the times or not.

| Well i hope it was a success, i got home at 11:10 and spent an hour doing nothing but trying to open up maple, and it instantly crash, and i was so frustrated i just quit. I did everything i could possibly do. When i said "I HOPE I DONT DC" i said that jokingly... and then i actually did DC and it closed the game. I started installing it on another computer now to see if its my computer and not the internet, but i feel like ever since all the changes maple has been a lot laggier for everyone. | |

| I wouldn't know because my computer sucks anyway. But I do know that the social side of maple has really slowed down a lot. Apparently henehoes don't even exist anymore according to Kevrec, and I haven't really seen any smega fights. I give maple maybe a few more years to live before they just decide to just shut it down. Nexon has better games anyway, I just don't have the time to play them. | |

| NOOOO NOT THE HENEHOES!
But yeah i noticed when i was trying to log on that the population of Bera went down a lot. I guess the only people that still play are the hardcore gamers. I miss old maplestory, back when you could just play for the summer and actually have fun. Now whenever we play we just criticize how much they fucked it all up.

| I'm sure part of the reason that Bera's population is going down though is because of how they changed the arrangement of the worlds. Every new world they come out with now goes in the front, making people want to choose the first world they see. I was one of those people who chose my world based on its place, I wanted something that wasn't overpopulated but still had people. But now that Bera isn't up there anymore, more people are leaving than they are coming in. | |

| I think the social part of the game is depleting because they got rid of a lot of things that forced you to be social. For instance, you can pay for planes and get to continents faster than before, so nobody rides ch 1 on the orbis ship. PQs aren't worth their rewards or experience anymore, so nobody really does them. More and more people are able to solo major bosses now, so there aren't as many run groups. Frankly, the social experience was the only thing I think that kept people playing, and now that it's dwindling I don't think the game will be around much longer. So yeah, Alek, we're counting on you. | |

| Oh, yeah. I agree completely. I didn't even know about the whole plane thing until you guys mentioned it when I got on. They may as well not even have the other ships anymore. I thought they actually fixed the exp for PQs' though? I think they made PQ's faster it seems, which still kind of lessens the social part. I remember the last time we did KPQ, no one really talked besides us. And when I look around, it just seems like the only thing people talk about are JUST about maple. At least with the henehoes there it kinda seemed like we had some kind of social thing going. It kinda makes the game seem boring and less friendly. | |

| They did change the exp formula on pqs, but they also changed it for training too. Bryan went from 70-100 in one day training at MP3. I tried pqing, but when you guys weren't on I had a really hard time finding parties. | |

| The old peck and grind MMO's are becoming obsolete. Is probably more of the reasons maple populations are going down. (Not to mention it just isn't as popular anymore) Not to mention if you really look at the game you can see it is literally just one long grind fest with some very patched together storylines thrown here and there and poorly thought out ideas of a "challenging quests". The concept of party quests becomes nothing but another aspect of grind
The way a character played is completely linear with almost no absolute room for compromise when it comes to stats or skills, which is something really big in most MMO's the idea of creating a different kind of character adds some diversity to your game. While maple only two real aspects really matter, your level and damage.
Honestly the only challenge i find with the game is the jump quests. Other then that its just a matter of your current level, time, and resource. The game is pretty much definable as a casual experience in my eyes because there is no real challenge there that requires a ample amount of ability, but rather most things are easily accomplished if "you have the time."
Also Helen is probably right as maplestory goes it's game concept its poor, its momentum and community is what has pushed it along so far and without a good social aspect in the community the game will probably infidelity die down if not completely off. Also, rawr. Alek if your want to do some game design stuff talk to me, i am building some game concepts and love to talk concept design >: )

| I think Larz just summed up Maples entire history in that one post.
It really is not that great of a game anymore and never really was to begin with. If I never met you guys I probably would have stopped playing a lot longer ago, and that just adds on to the fact that its only real "pull" it had was with the community.
