World Cup

Are any of you watching the world cup besides me? What do you think about it so far? I just shat my pants when switzerland beat spain, i am loving all of these upsets, all of these soccer power houses are either losing or tying with such random teams. At this point thought, you cant really say anything about it though since it just started, and if any team gets two wins that first loss doesnt really matter. I don't really know who i want to win but i know who i don't want to win and thats italy and england. If i had to pick between one of the powerhouses it would be Spain or Germany. But i would also love for Ivory Coast to get farther. This post sounds like something jando would type. I guess i understand why he talks like that now...

I was just watching France vs Mexico in Firehouse Subs, but it had just started...score was still 0 to 0. My NAS162 teacher is from Germany, so she talks about it all the time. When Germany pwned Australia 4-0, she was in an especially good mood. But I don't follow it otherwise...

It seems bigger this year. I've never heard so many people talk about it. Literally everywhere I go, someone's talking about a game they watched. I never knew so many people watched soccer... in the past the world cup has come and go without me even knowing about it.

I have been following it more this year too, i think they did a better job advertising it. I think soccer is one of the few sports that almost everyone enjoys watching, for one reason or another. (most of my friends that are girls just watch it for the brief moments where they zoom in on their faces....)

Yeah i was rooting for mexico in that game, i wasnt rooting for them in the opener. They broke the tradition of the host team winning the opening match. (well actually they tied)

Brazil vs Cote de ivoire was crazy today, CIV was fouling like no tomorrow.

I saw that game too. I liked that one time where the guy from CIV ran into the dude from Brazil, and then fell over and pretended like he got smacked in the face, even though the instant replayed clearly showed the Brazilian didn't do shit. They were just playing dirty because they suck.
